Audio demo: Build No. 2
Made this video/ audio demo as an archive of my Build #2. Please excuse the playing; it's not a demo of my (lack of) 'live' playing skills. Other than the drums and bass, all guitar parts & the 'synth' sound were recorded with it. Directly recorded to Logic Pro X through a Line6 audio interface. Amps and effects from Logic Pro X. The audio has been mastered. The clean sound is largely the pickup set to max vol, maybe amp treble turned down a bit. For this prototype build, I experimented with a very, very cheap generic ceramic magnet humbuckers. Depending on the amp settings and pedals, it can either sound silent-clean or it can have a scratchy hi-freq throughput. Then again, expensive pickups don't automatically work well with all amp settings instantly. Some tweaking is always involved. That said, I wonder if Alnico magnets would be better. Love the uncomplicated single pickup + single push-pull vol/ no tone-knob configuration. It's less versat
